Overview

Graham Packaging is hiring a Shuttle Driver/Yard Jockey based in Casa Grande, AZ. This position will follow a 4 on/4 off schedule, 7am-7pm.

 

Due to the rotating schedule, weekly hours alternate between approximately 48 hours one week and 36 hours the next rotation. This schedule provides employees with predictable time off while maintaining consistent work and home time.

  • Weekly pay starting at $28.00 per hour and up.

The Shuttle Driver/Yard Jockey is responsible for safely transporting products between the manufacturing plant and warehouse, moving trailers within facility yards, and making local customer deliveries. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient material flow, ensuring trailer availability, and supporting warehouse operations through loading and unloading activities.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shuttle loaded/empty trailers between the production plant and warehouse facility.• Perform local customer deliveries within approximately a 2.5-mile radius of the plant.• Operate commercial tractor to move trailers safely throughout plant and warehouse yards.• Spot trailers at loading docks and designated staging locations.• Load and unload trailers at the warehouse using forklifts as required.• Verify shipment accuracy and ensure freight is properly secured.• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections.• Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, company safety policies, and applicable state regulations.• Communicate effectively with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and site management.• Report equipment defects, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.• Maintain clean and organized vehicles, trailers, and work areas.• Assist with other transportation, warehouse, and operational duties as assigned.

 

Key Performance Expectations: 

• Safe operation of all company vehicles and equipment.• On-time shuttle movements and customer deliveries.• Accurate trailer placement and yard management.• Compliance with safety, regulatory, and company requirements.• Positive support of warehouse and production operations.

 

This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and safe movement of products, trailers, and materials between company facilities and local customers while supporting warehouse loading and unloading operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record.• 3 years of related driving experience in a manufacturing, logistics environment or similar.• Previous yard jockey, shuttle driver, or local delivery experience preferred.• Ability to obtain forklift certification.• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.• Strong attention to safety and detail.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Experience using electronic logging devices (ELDs).

 

Education:• High school diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements:• Ability to frequently enter and exit trucks and trailers.• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Working Conditions:• Manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor yard environments.• Frequent trailer movement and dock operations.• Exposure to changing weather conditions, vehicle traffic, and warehouse equipment.

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
