Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Agile Coach to drive agile transformation, foster high-performing teams, and enable value delivery across the organization!

Quipu is the dedicated IT company of the ProCredit group, providing end-to-end technology solutions for all ProCredit institutions and external financial sector clients. From electronic payment services to robust software systems and hybrid cloud hosting, Quipu plays a central role in enabling efficiency, innovation, and sustainable digital banking services across the group.

Established in 2004 and headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Quipu is a 100% subsidiary of ProCredit Holding and serves as a strategic technology partner driving stability, modernization, and excellence in banking operations.

Mission of the Role

The Senior Agile Coach empowers squads to become high-performing, self-organizing, and value-driven. Acting as a strategic change agent, you will guide Quipu’s agile transformation, drive organizational alignment, enable delivery excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

A key expectation of this role is to increase squad maturity through hands-on coaching and to demonstrate visible, measurable value in delivery outcomes and team capability growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Enablement & Agile Maturity

  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable agile delivery practices across squads and IT Areas.

  • Facilitate quarterly planning events (PI Planning, QBRs) and ensure readiness across teams.

  • Drive organizational change using frameworks such as ADKAR.

  • Coach teams and leadership to align backlog priorities with customer outcomes and business value.

  • Support top management in using agile principles for strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct agile maturity assessments and build tailored improvement roadmaps.

  • Own and continuously evolve the organizational Agile Playbook.

2. IT Area Strategy Facilitation

  • Plan and facilitate scaled agile ceremonies (PI Planning, IT Area Syncs, System/Squad Demos).

  • Track and escalate dependencies, risks, and impediments at IT Area level.

  • Guide and support Communities of Practice and alignment structures across domains.

  • Ensure clarity and synchronization across roles, processes, and delivery rhythms.

3. Cross-Squad Coordination & Flow Optimization

  • Identify and resolve systemic blockers across squads with Product Area Leads, Tech Area Leads, POs, and Release Manager.

  • Improve delivery flow using cycle time, throughput, WIP limits, and related metrics.

  • Facilitate cross-squad retrospectives and improvement workshops.

  • Support the Release Manager in aligning release cadences with capacity and business priorities.

  • Drive alignment across squads to ensure coherent delivery and predictable outcomes.

4. Daily Operational Excellence

  • Facilitate core agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews).

  • Coach Product Owners on backlog readiness, prioritization, story quality, and acceptance criteria.

  • Proactively remove impediments by engaging with stakeholders and resolving blockers just-in-time.

  • Monitor flow metrics and WIP limits to maintain a healthy, sustainable delivery cadence.

  • Support squads in breaking down initiatives into smaller, value-driven epics.

5. Transparency & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure visibility of progress through dashboards, metrics, and visual management tools.

  • Coach teams on communicating risks, progress, and improvement efforts.

  • Enable alignment between business goals and delivery execution through structured ceremonies and coaching.

  • Support definition and tracking of organizational OKRs and help squads understand how their work connects to KPIs.

6. Continuous Improvement & Learning Culture

  • Lead implementation of Agile and Continuous Improvement frameworks across squads.

  • Guide improvement actions and track their impact using measurable outcomes.

  • Build skill development backlogs with role leaders to increase capability and throughput.

  • Promote a culture of autonomy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Apply Lean techniques and data-driven insights (velocity, lead time, predictability) to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Deliver internal training programs, workshops, and webinars.

7. Squad Maturity Growth & Visible Value Creation

  • Drive measurable improvement in squad maturity levels, using structured assessment models and growth plans.

  • Provide hands-on coaching that delivers visible, traceable value—improving backlog quality, predictability, flow stability, and delivery performance.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Chapter Leads to strengthen team capability and autonomy.

  • Demonstrate coaching impact through data and outcomes: maturity progression, cycle time reduction, improved throughput, or enhanced cross-team collaboration.

  • Enable squads to become increasingly self-sufficient and empowered, progressing toward high-performance maturity levels.

Technical Skills

  • Deep expertise in Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and Lean principles, with proven experience scaling agile practices.

  • Hands-on experience applying scaled agile frameworks at organizational level.

  • Strong backlog management coaching (refinement, prioritization, story slicing).

  • Advanced use of Azure DevOps or Jira for metrics, flow analysis, and performance trends.

  • Strong dependency and risk management capabilities.

  • Experience with release coordination and working with Release Managers.

  • Proficiency with digital facilitation tools (Mural, Miro, Conceptboard, AI enablers).

  • Data-driven mindset using maturity models, health checks, and flow metrics.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

  • Design Thinking experience is an advantage.

Soft Skills

  • Servant leadership mindset and strong coaching presence.

  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

  • High emotional intelligence and empathy; adaptable coaching style.

  • Constructive conflict resolution and mediation capabilities.

  • Strategic thinking aligned with enterprise goals and value streams.

  • Resilience, adaptability, and strong change leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated growth mindset and self-awareness.
