Job description:

The role:
An 80-metre private Feadship is looking for an experienced Yacht Chef to join a new-build family vessel ahead of its scheduled July 2027 launch. The full crew will assemble in Amsterdam from mid-April to prepare the yacht for handover. The first summer program will cover Northern Europe, including Norway, Scotland and Cornwall, finishing in London in September. The winter program is expected to include Antigua, with potential future cruising in the Red Sea and Seychelles.

Food and cuisine preferences:
The owners prefer simple, high-quality cooking rather than complex fine dining. They value excellent ingredients, sensible portions and consistently well-executed dishes. Food should not include vinegar or foams, and overly large portions should be avoided. The owners often enjoy visiting local restaurants while cruising, so the chef should understand when to keep meals relaxed and straightforward while maintaining a high standard.

Contract and package:
This is a full-time, permanent position, paid monthly at €8,000 to €9,000 per month. The package includes a 13th-month payment, premium economy flights for travel. Guest usage is expected to vary between approximately 100 and 180 days per year. The chef is required on board seven days before guest trips and for seven days after each trip.

Additional information:
The yacht normally accommodates up to 10 guests and is operated as a private family vessel. The owners value privacy, calm surroundings and clear communication. The successful chef should be experienced, efficient, organised, discreet and comfortable communicating directly with the owners. Fluent English is required. A calm, low-ego approach is important, with the focus on consistent food rather than unnecessary complexity. The vessel is non-smoking.

A cooking trial with the owners is planned at a London or Monaco residence before final appointment.

Note: Cabins on board are shared by gender, in line with the separate-accommodation rules of the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC 2006). Any male-only or female-only requirement on this role is set by the vessel's management or captain for this reason, not by Montclair Chef.
