Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification. The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore. IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centres of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents. Develop, deliver, and maintain base models for various applications in different simulation environments to fulfil business needs for different stakeholders in power quality and power conversion.
How you’ll make an impact:
Developing Base models and component development in PSCAD, PSSE Dig SILENT, Power Factory and EMTP-RV for Power electronics-based applications.
Understand the customer requirements and developing models for customers in the above-mentioned software. Responsible for developing scalable models and maintaining them in line with control platform changes.
Extensive contact with engineering groups (Power Quality, Power conversion and LP STATCOM), Application engineering, and Product management. Writing technical reports for the Base models to facilitate the ease of using the models.
Model troubleshooting, fault tracing issues and supporting customers in adapting the models to the customer-specific networks. Simulation model benchmarking in different simulation software’s
Understanding grid codes and adapting the models in accordance with the requirements.
Diligently follow the process and guidelines around model delivery thereby ensuring the quality and on time delivery of the simulation model.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:
Required ME Power Systems / ME Power Electronics with 0-3+ years of experience in modelling IBR’s for power quality and power conversion applications.
You should have experience in simulation tools such as EMTDC / PSCAD, PSS/E, EMPTV-RV and Dig Silent Power factory. Required Good knowledge of FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB and C.
Understanding application of Power Electronics in HV/EHV system. Experience in performing power system studies like load flow, short circuit, transient stability and switching transients for utility / industrial. systems.
Familiar with IEEE/CIGRE guidelines for simulation model development. Good knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose.
Curiosity to explore and continuously learn changing power system landscape.
Zeal to explore the potential of different simulation software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
