Reporting to the Brisbane Survey Manager, the Cadastral & Land Development Lead will lead our Brisbane cadastral team and play a key role in the delivery of major land development projects throughout South East Queensland. The role will also provide specialist cadastral support to Fyfe's regional infrastructure, renewables, energy and resources projects across Queensland.

This is an opportunity to take a senior role within our Queensland Survey business, combining hands-on project and client leadership with technical cadastral expertise and the development of our people.

This role will see you:

  • Lead the Brisbane cadastral team and support the successful delivery of cadastral and land development surveying services.
  • Lead the delivery of complex urban development and subdivision projects throughout South East Queensland.
  • Manage project planning, resourcing, financial performance and delivery outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with property developers, infrastructure clients, government authorities and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on surveying, cadastral and land development matters.
  • Act as a senior technical reference point for cadastral surveying matters, including boundary reinstatement, tenure interpretation and statutory surveying requirements.
  • Provide specialist cadastral support to regional infrastructure, renewable energy, transmission, pipeline, Oil & Gas and telecommunications projects.
  • Support projects involving easements, lease surveys, tenure investigations, freehold conversion, land access and acquisition activities.
  • Review and support technically complex or higher-risk cadastral projects.
  • Mentor surveyors and developing Registered Surveyors and support the ongoing technical development and career progression of the team.
  • Promote consistent cadastral standards, quality assurance processes and best-practice methodologies.
  • Coordinate with Fyfe's engineering, planning, environmental and other survey teams to deliver multidisciplinary project outcomes.
  • Support business development, proposals, fee development and project pursuits across the land development and infrastructure markets.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of Fyfe's cadastral and land development capability across Queensland.

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will be an experienced cadastral surveyor with strong technical, commercial and leadership capability and the ability to build relationships with clients, staff and external stakeholders.

Personal requirements for this role include:

  • Registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland as a Registered Surveyor with Cadastral Endorsement.
  • Extensive experience delivering cadastral and land development projects within Queensland.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale subdivision and development projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cadastral legislation, land tenure, boundary definition and statutory surveying requirements.
  • Strong project management and commercial management capability.
  • Experience managing project budgets, resourcing, programme and delivery outcomes.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop survey professionals.
  • A commercially pragmatic approach with the ability to identify issues, manage risk and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience providing cadastral support to infrastructure, energy or regional projects.

Experience in renewable energy, transmission, Oil & Gas, linear infrastructure or multidisciplinary project environments will be highly regarded.
