Description
We finance real estate projects where traditional banks may be too slow or too rigid. Our financing typically ranges from €250K to €30M, subject to approval. We move fast, assess each opportunity on its merits, and build financing structures around viable projects—not only standard checklists.
We are part of Multitude Group (ETR: MULT) and are expanding our wholesale lending business across European markets.
We are now looking for a Senior Credit Underwriter to evaluate and structure institutional real estate financing opportunities while ensuring alignment with our credit policies and risk appetite.
This is a senior role for someone who combines strong financial analysis with sound commercial judgement. You will work closely with Investment Managers, Credit Analysts, and other stakeholders to build financing structures that manage risk while supporting attractive business opportunities.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Evaluate and underwrite institutional real estate loan applications in line with the bank’s credit policies and risk appetite.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including assessment of financial statements, cash-flow projections, financing structures, and collateral.
- Assess borrower creditworthiness based on financial performance, credit history, ownership structure, market conditions, and industry-specific risks.
- Analyse real estate projects, including valuation, loan-to-value, debt-service capacity, project feasibility, exit strategy, and downside scenarios.
- Prepare comprehensive credit proposals with clear risk assessments, recommendations, proposed terms, conditions, and risk-mitigation measures.
- Work closely with Investment Managers and Credit Analysts to structure commercially attractive and appropriately secured financing solutions.
- Present and defend credit recommendations to relevant decision-makers and credit committees.
- Monitor the existing loan portfolio, identify early warning signals, and recommend proactive measures where credit quality deteriorates.
- Follow market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes affecting institutional and real estate lending.
- Support and guide junior underwriters and analysts while promoting consistent credit standards and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, delegated authorities, and applicable regulatory requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Several years of relevant experience in credit underwriting, institutional lending, commercial banking, real estate finance, leveraged finance, or a comparable credit-risk role.
- Strong experience assessing complex corporate or real estate financing transactions.
- Advanced financial-analysis skills, including financial statements, cash-flow modelling, debt-service capacity, sensitivity analysis, and downside scenarios.
- Good understanding of real estate valuation, collateral structures, loan documentation, and key lending metrics such as LTV, LTC, DSCR, and interest coverage.
- Ability to identify material credit risks and translate them into clear financing conditions and risk mitigants.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance risk protection with viable deal execution.
- Experience preparing high-quality credit papers and presenting recommendations to credit committees or senior decision-makers.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and sound credit-risk-management practices.
- Ability to work effectively with commercial, investment, legal, valuation, and risk stakeholders.
- Confidence to challenge assumptions and decisions constructively while remaining pragmatic and solution-oriented.
- Strong communication skills and professional fluency in English.
- A degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or another relevant field.
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues is considered an advantage.
What will help you succeed
You are analytical but not limited to checklists. You can understand the commercial opportunity behind a transaction while remaining disciplined about risk. You take ownership, form clear conclusions from complex information, and communicate your recommendations with confidence.
You are comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where every transaction may require a tailored approach. Most importantly, you know when a risk can be structured and mitigated—and when it should not be accepted.
If you want to help build a flexible and commercially minded wholesale lending business while maintaining strong credit standards, we would like to hear from you.

The salary will depend on the level of the position and the candidate’s experience:
