Role and responsibilities

As a Factory & Field Integration (FFI) Technical Support Engineer - Optics you will be responsible for providing quality solutions for complex technical disturbances to secure delivery performance of our advanced lithography systems. FFI scope includes all TWINSCAN systems as of system power on in the production sequence, up to and including install at the customer’s site. Within the Optics scope your work is about technical disturbances related to Dose Control, Reticle Masking, Projection and Illumination 

You will be working in the superflex roster with once every 4 weeks a working weekend including 2 jumpdays in surrounding weeks. For escalations we expect you to travel to the customer’s site when the situation asks for it.

As a FFI Technical Support Engineer – Optics you are:

  • Supporting: second line trouble shoot support for volume production within our factory and third line support for the install organization; As such, support the Execution teams and the Quick Response teams (QRT) – which are first line support - in the factory to secure progress.

  • Troubleshooting: point out structural problems to be solved structurally or to have a countermeasure;

  • Executing Escalation management: lead technical escalations in line with the Escalation Management process, securing the right stakeholders are involved to get the disturbance solved.

  • Having a Quality & Problem Solving mindset: monitor the quality and timing of problems and their implementation, including technical realization; actively identify and contribute to initiatives improving the efficiency and quality of the Escalation Management process.

  • Transferring knowledge: actively seek and transfer knowledge within the factory to increase solving power of the Execution and QRT teams. Actively seek and transfer knowledge with D&E to increase solving power of the TS dayshift team.

  • Cooperating: work closely together with other support departments to secure effective problem analysis and continuity;

  • Continuously improving the business: take the lead by executing plans, undertake the right actions on time; At times when there is no escalation, be proactive in identifying and implementing process and/or technical improvements.

  • Creative: focus on finding more solutions to one problem, and perceive the problem in multiple ways; Also think of ways on how to prevent the issue, solve the issue faster or how to ensure solving parties closer to production can solve the issue themselves.

  • Multitasking: even when multiple tasks are executed at the same time you deliver work with quality and respect delivery deadlines.


Education and experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need at least:

  • A Master's degree in the direction of: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Automotive, Aerospace;

  • Preferably 0-2 years of hands-on experience in a technical production environment;

  • Experience with troubleshooting: analyzing problems, finding root-cause and determining solution;

  • Knowledge of quality improvement methods;

  • Knowledge and experience with (technical) project management;

  • Experience in problem analysis of products and processes.

Skills:

  • Is prepared to travel in order to solve (potential) problems in the field.

For this position, the indicative (fixed) annual salary range is between 58,500 euro and 66,000 euro​. This range comprises vacation allowance and a 13th-month payment. Company profit sharing and shift allowance (if applicable) are not included in this range. The actual compensation offered will depend on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: job-related skills, relevant education and (work) experience, certifications, demonstrated abilities of the candidate, pay relative to other team members. This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).
