Description
Reports to: Production Supervisor / Charge Hand
Cooperates with: Welders, Metal Fab Operators, Shippers, Safety, Customer Service
Primary Responsibility of Welder:
Performing MIG welding, layout, tacking, fabrication, and building functions in the manufacture of various products in accordance with product specifications.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG Welding based on product needs.
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary tasks.
- Working knowledge of fixturing and assembly techniques.
- Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measures, hammers, levels, squares, manual and power tools, forklifts, and cranes to assemble to stated requirements.
- Use pneumatic tools, grinders, and shears.
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation.
- Welding equipment maintenance.
- Work in accordance with CWB & DIN6700 welding standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner
- Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes
- CWB welding certification a plus. Must be able to obtain CWB certification.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.
- Knowledge of safe workplace practices
