Oracle EBS Techno-Functional Consultant (AR & Project Accounting)1
Experience Level: 7–9 Years
Location: Offshore
Key Responsibilities
Functional Delivery
- Business Analysis: Lead requirement gathering sessions, map business processes to Oracle standard functionality, and perform gap analysis.
- Module Configuration: Configure, maintain, and optimize Oracle AR and Project Accounting modules to meet evolving business needs.
- Solution Design: Prepare detailed functional design documents for customizations, extensions, modifications, and interfaces (CEMLIs).
- Cross-Module Integration: Ensure seamless flow and reconciliation of data between PA, AR, General Ledger (GL), and Order Management (OM).
Technical Execution
- Development & Customization: Design and develop technical components (PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and Oracle Forms/Reports).
- Technical Documentation: Author comprehensive technical design specifications (MD.070) and installation scripts (MD.120).
- Data Migration & Integration: Build and maintain inbound/outbound interfaces using Oracle standard APIs, open interfaces, and Web Services.
- Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL code, and concurrent programs to ensure system efficiency.
Support & Testing
- Production Support: Provide Tier 2/3 technical and functional support, troubleshooting critical system issues and closing month-end/year-end processing bottlenecks.
- Testing: Define test strategies, prepare test scripts (TE.040), and conduct Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Functional Expertise
- Project Accounting (PA): Deep understanding of Project Costing, Project Billing, revenue recognition, agreement and funding setups, and inter-project/inter-company billing.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Expertise in customer setups, invoicing, receipt auto-matching, lockbox processing, revenue management, and period-close activities.
- Core Financials: Strong understanding of GL (SLA/Subledger Accounting architecture), Subledger-to-GL reconciliation, and Multi-Org environments.
- Documentation: Expert in writing clear, comprehensive functional documentation, including MD.050 (Functional Design), BR.100 (Application Setup), and mapping documents using AIM/OUM methodologies.
Technical Toolset
- Languages & Database: Advanced SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques within Oracle Database 12c/19c environments.
- Development Tools: Oracle Forms 10g/11g, Oracle Reports, Oracle Workflow, and XML/BI Publisher.
- Architecture: Proficient in Oracle R12.2 architecture, including Online Patching (ADOP) concepts and standards.
- Frameworks: Familiarity with OAF (Oracle Application Framework) extensions and personalization is highly desirable.
Education & Soft Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills to trace data flow through backend tables and code layers.
