Activity Assistant

Earn $16.50 to $19.25 an hour planning outings, special events, and daily programs for residents at Tudor Oaks in Muskego. This is a full-time temporary role for 4 to 5 months, starting in late November.

Tudor Oaks is a senior living community on a 110-acre campus just outside Milwaukee. Our residents live in independent apartments, assisted living, and our Francis Henry Health Center. As an Activity Assistant, you'll work with all of them, so you'll gain experience across every level of senior care in one job.

What you'll do

• Lead group and one-on-one programs matched to each resident's interests and abilities
• Help plan new program ideas, special events, and outings
• Escort residents to and from programs, including residents who use wheelchairs or walkers
• Work alongside volunteers during programs
• Record attendance and participation notes, and share any concerns or incidents with the Lifestyle Program Director
• Prepare supplies and projects like sensory boxes and seasonal decorations

What you'll need

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 6-12 months of experience leading activities or programs, or a college internship in a related field 
• Able to communicate clearly with residents and staff in English, spoken and written
• Able to work a weekend rotation and holidays
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds often and up to 50 pounds sometimes, with or without accommodation
• Must be 18 or older

Preferred:

• Experience working with older adults, including people living with memory loss
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license
• Basic skills in Word, Publisher, and Excel

Pay and schedule

• $16.50 to $19.25 per hour, based on experience
• Full-time, Monday through Friday, Days, plus a weekend rotation and holidays 
• Temporary position, late November for about 4 to 5 months
