Job Description

What you’ll do  

• Set up and operate thermal spray coating equipment used to apply HVOF and thermal barrier coatings to gas turbine components. 

• Prepare parts for coating by cleaning, masking, loading, handling, and completing pre-coat and post-coat operations as required. 

• Follow work instructions, process sheets, blueprints, and operating procedures to perform coating operations to specification. 

• Monitor equipment and process conditions during coating operations and escalate issues when process, equipment, or quality concerns are identified. 

• Support operation of manual and computer-controlled coating equipment used in thermal spray processes. 

• Inspect parts and process outputs using approved methods to verify coating and part requirements are met. 

• Support routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of coating cells, spray guns, fixtures, and related equipment. 

• Work as part of a manufacturing team to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals. 

• Participate in lean initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and other shop floor improvement activities. 

 

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications) 

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment performing work that requires following detailed work instructions, process sheets, blueprints, or similar technical documentation. 

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating production equipment, mechanical equipment, or other process-driven manufacturing equipment. 

• Minimum of 1 year of experience performing one or more of the following in a manufacturing environment: part preparation, masking, cleaning, surface preparation, coating-related processes, assembly, machining, welding, inspection, or material handling. 

• Experience using basic hand tools and shop tools, and working with measuring tools or inspection methods to verify process or part requirements. 

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and wear required personal protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

• Successful completion of an assessment for the job class, background check, and drug screen. 

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this role. 

 

What will make you stand out 

• You have experience in machining, assembly, industrial coating, thermal processing, welding, or other precision manufacturing operations. 

• You have experience operating automated, CNC-controlled, PLC-controlled, or other computer-assisted manufacturing equipment. 

• You have prior experience with thermal spray, HVOF, thermal barrier coatings, industrial coating, blasting, masking, or surface preparation processes. 

• You bring strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn a specialized manufacturing process. 

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is $35.55 - $36.86. Eligible for a $1.00/hour shift premium.
