IT Support & Systems Specialist
Full-Time Opportunity
Based in Poughkeepsie, New York
Travel Throughout Dutchess and Orange Counties
Occasional Evening and Weekend Availability Required
Are you a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and keeping critical systems operating reliably? Foam & Wash Car Wash is looking for a dependable and resourceful IT Support & Systems Specialist to support technology across our 13 Hudson Valley locations.
This position will serve as the primary internal point of contact for day-to-day IT needs. You will provide hands-on support to our employees, troubleshoot technology issues, maintain hardware and network systems, coordinate with outside vendors, and help ensure our locations remain connected, secure, and operational.
This is an on-site, field-based position that requires regular travel between Foam & Wash locations.
What You’ll Do
- Provide prompt, hands-on technical support to employees at our headquarters and car wash locations
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, connectivity, and system-related issues
- Serve as Foam & Wash’s primary point of contact with our enterprise-wide POS provider
- Coordinate POS installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and remote or on-site vendor support
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain computers, printers, servers, tablets, networking equipment, and other business technology
- Support and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and related infrastructure
- Perform routine system maintenance, including software updates, backups, security patches, and equipment inspections
- Help plan and implement new hardware, software, and technology upgrades across multiple locations
- Work closely with our outside IT partner to maintain cybersecurity standards and PCI compliance
- Coordinate PCI scans, reporting, remediation, and required follow-up
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment, system configurations, procedures, vendor information, and troubleshooting steps
- Train and guide employees on the proper and secure use of company technology
- Prioritize technology issues based on their impact on customers and site operations
- Provide occasional after-hours or weekend support when urgent technology issues affect business operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in IT support, systems administration, network support, or a similar hands-on technology role
- Strong working knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and networking
- Ability to diagnose problems efficiently and follow issues through to completion
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, system access controls, backups, and security protocols
- Experience supporting POS systems or technology across multiple business locations is preferred
- Familiarity with PCI compliance is preferred
- Strong organization, documentation, and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to nontechnical employees
- Ability to work independently while also coordinating effectively with employees, vendors, and outside partners
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or similar certifications are preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly between locations
Work Expectations
- This is a full-time, on-site and field-based position
- Remote work is not available for this role
- Regular travel throughout Dutchess and Orange Counties is required
- Mileage will be reimbursed according to the company’s current reimbursement policy
- Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call availability may be required when urgent issues affect operations
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and technical background.
