Description

The City of Marysville is looking for a Transportation & Mobility Engineer to serve as the lead technical expert for intelligent transportation systems (ITS), smart mobility initiatives, and infrastructure management. Reporting to the City Engineer, this role balances hands-on engineering project management with high-level strategic planning, data analysis, and stakeholder communication.
  • Infrastructure & Capital Project Management: Manage planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transportation infrastructure (traffic control devices, EV charging, street lighting) and serve as project leader for capital initiatives.

  • Traffic Engineering & ITS: Serve as the City’s lead expert for ITS, traffic studies, and smart mobility; advise leadership on Beta District and NW 33 Innovation Corridor initiatives.

  • Data Analysis & GIS: Conduct research, prepare reports, and maintain lighting infrastructure data within the City’s GIS databases to identify trends and solutions.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex engineering concepts into accessible language for City Council, leadership, residents, and community partners.

  • Supervision & Budgeting: Supervise Traffic Technicians, direct consultants/contractors, and assist with annual CIP budget preparation and resource allocation.

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required (high school diploma or equivalent also required).

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in transportation planning, engineering project management, traffic operations, or electronic traffic control systems management; prior supervisory experience preferred.

  • Licensure & Requirements: Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license recommended; valid Ohio driver’s license and proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and office productivity software required.
