What you'll be doing
As the Consultant, Risk Analytics and Credit Decisioning, you'll support the profitable growth of the credit cards. In this role, you will perform data-driven analysis to enhance credit decisioning and risk management strategies, while helping improve the quality, completeness, and reliability of lending data. You will work collaboratively with partners across the business to generate insights and support sound credit risk decisions.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you’ll succeed
- Analysis - Design and execute data solutions to provide insightful analysis on all existing portfolios and new initiatives. Focus on Credit Card new account adjudication strategy for both pre-approved and non pre-approved with balanced risk and reward tradeoffs that maximize the revenue while minimize the loss with data driven analytics. Work closely with technology partners on implementation of strategy/changes in the adjudication system. Ensure successful implementation through detailed validation and tracking. Conduct post-implementation reviews on strategies to measure results against expectation. Provide objective and sound feedback to help improve the effectiveness of future strategy actions. Develop a working knowledge of Credit Card risk management policies, standards and guidelines to enable the completion of various analytical assignments. Handle ad-hoc requests on the secured and unsecured personal lending portfolios as required
- Insights - Design, schedule and run queries which provide insights into the performance of the assigned portfolios. Undertake analytics in support of driving deeper insights into the performance of various segments of the Credit Card portfolio to improve strategy design. Assist with designing and building new tracking and reporting capabilities to evaluate the performance of Credit Card portfolio segments or past strategy actions; this includes vintage-based performance tracking as well as approval rate trend and portfolio risk quality tracking.
- Discussions - Represent Retail Risk Management in technical discussions with other Business Partners and Vendors on the transfer of data between parties.
- Data - Recommend alternative approaches to achieve business objectives based on data analysis and knowledge of various sources of data. Build strong understand towards data and help to validate during system migration.
- Collaborate - Work professionally with Colleagues and Business Partners to attain business objectives. Participate in risk management or cross-functional team initiatives as required
Who you are
- You can demonstrate experience. In retail credit risk management and/or data analytics focused roles. Experience in data mining, data manipulation, and data analysis. Experience with SAS and Excel used to perform data driven analytics.
- You have a degree/diploma. In Business, Finance, MBA or equivalent, education background in quantitative background such as Math, Statistics, Computer Science or Engineering a definite asset.
