Job Description Summary:
SOLV Energy’s Operational Technology Solutions (OTS) division provides state-of-the-art OT solutions focused on maximizing energy production of utility-scale renewable generation plants. The OTS Materials & Contracting Operations Lead is responsible for all OTS procurement activities, integrator contracting, and production oversite.This role can be remote or hybrid, with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR. Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in reviews of outgoing estimates as needed.
- Provide updates to the equipment within the estimating tool as needed.
- Equipment pricing used within the estimating tool should be reviewed and updated quarterly to ensure the most up to date pricing is being used on all outgoing estimates.
- Send RFPs to integrators and MET vendors.
- Compare pricing to how the project was bid and ensure the proposals are within budget.
- Work with the OTS Project Development Manager to determine which integrator and MET vendor to contract on a per project basis.
- Oversee subcontracting process for integrators and MET vendors for all active projects.
- Contracting the SCADA design drafters for all active projects, as applicable.
- Contracting 3rd party SCADA vendors for all applicable active projects.
- Negotiate and communicate LD caps of 3rd party SCADA provider to the OTS Pre-Construction Project Manager to be captured in prime EPC contract.
- Maintain the master bill of material (BOM) that resides in the Estimating Tool.
- Build the BOM when a project is kicked off to begin design.
- Participate in a meeting with the assigned PM and/or the Pre-Construction Project Manager, and assigned SCADA Design Engineer to review BOM ahead of design start.
- Determine equipment lead times and establish drop-dead dates for ordering in order to meet desired equipment on site dates.
- Maintain datasheet repository with the latest equipment in the master BOM.
- Establish and maintain relationships with material vendors and suppliers.
- Shop for best pricing on required project equipment.
- Maintain a vender contact list.
- Order project equipment and ensure it is delivered to the integrator on time.
- Order equipment to site as directed by the OTS Project Manager (ad hoc orders).
- Order MET switches as applicable for all SCADA projects managed by SOLV OTS.
- Maintain production schedule with each integrator, ensure they are on track to complete equipment builds by the desired timeframe.
- Run bi-weekly meetings with each integrator and communicate any project updates.
- Participate in weekly meeting with the OTS PMs to communicate production updates and gather feedback.
- Participate in SOW/Exhibit reviews as required by the OTS Pre-Construction Project Manager.
- Manage the OTS cradle point (net cloud) account and ensure cradle points are in good working order for project deployments.
- Manage the OTS ATT/Verizon accounts and ensure needed service lines are established and unused services lines are terminated.
- Manage the OTS Starlink accounts and ensure needed service lines are established and unused services lines are terminated.
- Work with accounting and finance departments on a monthly basis to update the "Inventory Materials” report.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- College degree is preferred but not required. Related working experience can offset a college degree.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of utility-scale solar SCADA industry experience, including demonstrated experience in procurement, contracting, or materials management specific to SCADA systems
- Experience in forecasting and purchasing SCADA related materials and services.
- Cost tracking and budget management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, Power BI.
- Experience using project management tools including MS Project, P6, or Smartsheet.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and charismatic.
