Schedule & Shift Details:
- Position Type: Full-Time Permanent Placement | 40 Hours per Week.
- Shift Schedule: Day Shift | Standard hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours/day), with potential extended hours up to 7:00 PM on Mondays and/or Wednesdays.

Role Overview:
Seeking a qualified Medical Assistant II (CMA) for a full-time, permanent position in Newport, NH. Operating in an outpatient Family Medicine clinic with dedicated pediatric support, the MA II performs essential clinical duties including vital signs assessment, injection administration, phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, instrument sterilization, and room preparation, alongside routine administrative support.
Key Responsibilities & Clinical Scope:
- Patient Preparation & Rooming: Greet and check in patients, establish medical records for new patients, prepare exam rooms, obtain and record vital signs, and promptly report abnormal findings or concerns to the provider.
- Clinical Procedures & Diagnostics: Assist providers with exams and procedures; perform venipunctures, specimen collection, and routine laboratory tests; administer pediatric and adult injections and immunizations as ordered.
- Sterilization & Infection Control: Maintain strict aseptic techniques; clean, wrap, and autoclave surgical instruments; sterilize equipment and dispose of biohazardous waste per clinical protocol.
- Clinic Administration & Communication: Handle patient phone inquiries, schedule appointments and procedures, assist patients with insurance/billing forms, and supply authorized information to third-party payors within scope.
- Triage & Emergency Care: Recognize and prioritize emergency patient situations, assisting nursing staff and providers with acute treatments.
Qualifications & Candidate Requirements:
Education, Credentials & Certifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.[REQUIRED].
- Active certification/registration under one of the following designations. [REQUIRED]:
- CMA – Certified Medical Assistant via American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
- RMA – Registered Medical Assistant via American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant plus completion of a 12-month formal apprenticeship program.
- Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [REQUIRED].
Professional Experience & Submission Rules:
- Demonstrated pediatric clinical experience (must be explicitly documented on candidate's resume) [REQUIRED].
- Previous clinical experience in an outpatient medical office or ambulatory setting [STRONGLY PREFERRED].
