Our Cleveland (East), OH office has an exciting opportunity for a Trading Associate! This role provides critical day-to-day support for advisor teams by assisting with accurate trade execution, operational tasks, and ongoing process improvement. The Trading Associate builds technical expertise in trading platforms while contributing to an efficient, client-focused trading function within WEG.
This role is an On-site position.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $60,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Primary Job Functions
Trading and Account Activity
· Assist with the accurate processing of routine investment trades while building technical knowledge and confidence
· Execute routine trades using Orion Eclipse and custodial trading platforms under defined processes
· Review trade details for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with instructions
· Monitor assigned accounts for trade status, pending activity, and basic exceptions
· Escalate questions, errors, or complex situations to senior trading team members
Operational Support
· Respond to incoming advisor requests related to trade status, account activity, and platform navigation
· Assist advisor teams with basic use of managed account offerings and firm investment solutions
· Troubleshoot standard platform or process questions using documented procedures
· Partner with peers and senior team members to resolve requests efficiently
Trading Processes and Systems
· Learn and follow established trading procedures, controls, and documentation standards
· Build proficiency in Orion Eclipse and custodial platforms through hands-on execution and training
· Maintain accurate records and follow compliance and risk management requirements
· Incorporate feedback and coaching to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
Training and Development
· Participate in formal and on-the-job training related to trade execution and systems
· Assist with maintaining job aids, reference materials, and process documentation
· Support advisor training sessions by reinforcing standard workflows and tools
· Identify questions or gaps and proactively seek clarification or guidance
Collaboration and Professionalism
· Work closely with senior Trading Associates and peers to support team goals
· Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and accountability in daily work
· Communicate clearly and professionally with advisor teams and internal partners
· Exhibit a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the trading function
Education/Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business, finance, economics, or a related field
· 0-3 years' experience in trading, financial advisory, asset management, or financial planning
· Series 7, 66 licenses preferred
· Extensive knowledge of Orion Eclipse and broker dealer and custodian trading platforms preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce
· Strong teamwork and collaborative nature
· Operational background and process-oriented mindset
· Strong relationship building, communication, and leadership skills
· Mathematic and analytical disposition a plus
· Ability to train individuals and groups preferred
· Ability to multi-task effectively
· AI literacy: demonstrated ability to use AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, craft effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, and adapt to new AI applications as technology evolves
WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as this level is $42,500 - $63,750. However, the base salary range bolded above ($50,000.00 to $60,000.00) is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
