Description
EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by an established heavy civil construction firm—with a long track record of delivering projects for both private-sector clients and New York City municipal agencies—to recruit an experienced Estimator for their operation in the Bronx, NY.
This is an excellent onsite opportunity for a seasoned estimator who knows heavy civil work inside and out and can move confidently from blueprints to a defensible number. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-driven, and thrives in a high-volume bidding environment. This is a “doer” role for someone who enjoys owning takeoffs and cost analysis end to end and wants to make a direct impact on which jobs the firm wins.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Analyze information, plan approach, and report research results to support accurate, competitive bids.
- Prepare estimates for projects across both the private sector and NYC municipal agencies.
- Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and leadership throughout the bid process.
Qualifications
- 8–15 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
- Experience estimating for both private-sector clients and NYC municipalities.
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project/Primavera.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret plans, specs, and related documents.
- Works well with others and communicates clearly across teams.
- Comfortable working onsite, full-time; strong attendance and physical presence expected.
Compensation
Base salary range of $160,000 - $180,000, depending on experience.
