- Technische Klärung von Materialien, Zeichnungen, Spezifikationen und Engineering-Änderungen in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Engineering und Lieferanten
- Unterstützung und Koordination von PPAP-Aktivitäten (Production Part Approval Process), Erstbemusterungen und Lieferantenqualifizierungen
- Durchführung technischer Bewertungen von Alternativmaterialien, Abweichungsanträgen und Obsoleszenzfällen
- Enge Zusammenarbeit mit strategischem und operativem Einkauf bei material- und lieferantenbezogenen Fragestellungen
- Unterstützung bei Lieferantenreklamationen, Non-Conformity Reports (NCR) und Root-Cause-Analysen
- Mitwirkung bei Lieferantenaudits sowie technischen Bewertungen hinsichtlich Fähigkeiten, Qualitätsstandards und Prozessreife
- Unterstützung bei der Bewertung und Weiterentwicklung der Lieferantenperformance gemeinsam mit Qualitätssicherung und strategischem Einkauf
- Sicherstellung der Datenqualität und Vollständigkeit von Material- und Lieferantenstammdaten im SAP-System
- Technischer Ansprechpartner bei Lieferanteneskalationen sowie bei komplexen oder zeitkritischen Beschaffungsthemen
- Unterstützung von Serviceorganisation und Projektteams bei anspruchsvollen Beschaffungs- und Lieferantenfragen
Dein Hintergrund
- Abgeschlossenes Bachelorstudium im Maschinenbau, Abschluss einer höheren Fachschule/Technikerschule oder eine technische Grundausbildung (z. B. Polymechaniker, Automatiker oder Konstrukteur) mit entsprechender Weiterbildung.
- Idealwerweise Berufserfahrung im technischen Einkauf oder in einer vergleichbaren Supply-Chain-Management-Funktion
- Fundiertes Verständnis von technischen Zeichnungen, Stücklisten (BOM) sowie Fertigungs- und Produktionsprozessen
- Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit Lieferanten bei technischen, qualitätsrelevanten und kommerziellen Fragestellungen
- Erfahrung mit SAP und den relevanten Material- und Beschaffungsprozessen

The opportunity

As a Technical Buyer, you will play a key role at the interface between Procurement, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and our global supplier network. You will ensure that technically specified materials, components, and services meet the required quality, delivery, and cost targets while remaining available over the long term.
With your technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration, you will make an important contribution to product quality, supply security, and operational excellence. In doing so, you will help Hitachi Energy successfully deliver innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Clarify technical requirements related to materials, drawings, specifications, and engineering changes in close collaboration with Engineering and suppliers.
- Support and coordinate PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities, initial sample inspections, and supplier qualification processes.
- Conduct technical evaluations of alternative materials, deviation requests, and obsolescence cases.
- Work closely with strategic and operational procurement teams on material- and supplier-related topics.
- Support supplier claims, Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs), and root cause analyses.
- Participate in supplier audits and technical assessments regarding capabilities, quality standards, and process maturity.
- Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of supplier performance together with Quality Assurance and Strategic Procurement.
- Ensure data quality and completeness of material and supplier master data within SAP.
- Act as the technical point of contact during supplier escalations and for complex or time-critical procurement topics.
- Support service organizations and project teams with challenging sourcing and supplier-related matters.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Higher Technical College qualification, or a technical apprenticeship/trade qualification (e.g., precision mechanic, automation technician, or design engineer) combined with relevant further education.
- Ideally, professional experience in technical procurement or a comparable supply chain management role.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing and production processes.
- Experience working with suppliers on technical, quality-related, and commercial matters.
- Experience with SAP and related material management and procurement processes.
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style.
- Good written and spoken German and English skills.
- High level of initiative with the ability to work independently and deliver results.
- Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration in an international environment.
