THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for a highly driven Data Engineering, Specialist to:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, integration solutions, and data platforms that enable reliable, timely, and trusted data for business reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
- Support the organization's data strategy by ensuring the efficient ingestion, transformation, storage, and accessibility of enterprise data within the Data Warehouse and data ecosystem.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and advanced analytics initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Integration
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions across multiple source systems.
- Build and optimize scalable data models, data warehouses, and data marts to support reporting and analytical requirements.
- Ensure data is processed, transformed, and delivered efficiently while meeting performance and availability requirements.
Data Quality & Governance
- Implement data quality controls, validation rules, monitoring mechanisms, and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Adhere to enterprise data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements in managing data assets.
- Support data lineage, metadata management, and documentation standards across the data lifecycle.
Solution Delivery & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business users, data analysts, data scientists, architects, and application teams to understand data requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Participate in project delivery activities, including solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Troubleshoot data issues and provide timely resolution to minimize business disruption.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies, industry trends, and best practices, recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.
Job Requirements
- Education: BSc degree in computer science. Data Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or relevant fields
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role within the life insurance industry or other relevant financial services sector.
- Experience with Data warehouse: Databrick, Spark.
- Experience with Business Intelligence: Power BI
- Expert-level SQL: SQL Server, SQL Databrick.
- Experience in programming language – Python, Spark
- Experience with Git source control.
- Experience with building data models special on insurance domain.
- Hands-on experience of working with Data projects that have a complete CI/CD system.
- Experience with ETL tool: Azure Data Factory, Airflow.
- Ability to influence both technical and business peers and stakeholders.
- Lead by example – jump 'on the tools' when required to support the team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
