The Role
As a CNC Miller / Turner, you will be responsible for:
-
Programming, setting and operating CNC milling and turning machinery.
-
Manufacturing high-quality, bespoke precision components.
-
Working on one-off and small-batch production rather than repetitive, high-volume work.
-
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
-
Working with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens and Mazak.
-
Selecting tooling, setting offsets and making programme adjustments.
-
Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and workmanship.
-
Working independently and managing your own workload.
What We're Looking For
-
Previous experience as a CNC Miller / Turner, with practical knowledge of both disciplines.
-
Confident programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.
-
Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak or similar controls.
-
Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings.
-
Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances.
-
A background in subcontract precision engineering or toolmaking would be highly advantageous.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Candidates with traditional, hands-on machining experience and a broad understanding of both CNC milling and turning are particularly encouraged to apply.
