The Opportunity 🚀

Carrot is looking for a Fertility Medical Expert (RN, NP, or PA) to join our Medical Experts team on a contract basis for approximately a 3-month engagement, working a minimum 15 hours per week in a fully remote role. In this role, you will serve as a clinical resource for members navigating fertility and family-building, providing evidence-informed information and guidance that helps people understand their options and make confident, informed choices.

Day to day, you will meet with members by video to talk through their fertility questions and goals, offering clear, practical information without diagnosing, prescribing, or directing care..

This is a chance to put your fertility experience to work in a fast-growing digital health environment, with the flexibility of a contract schedule. You will work alongside a diverse team of medical experts across fertility, pregnancy, urology, mental health, and nutrition who share a passion for continuous learning and an evidence-based approach.

What You’ll Own 💼

In this role, you will:

  • Provide members with evidence-informed information and guidance on fertility topics, such as fertility evaluation and testing, treatment options, and family-building pathways
  • Conduct one-on-one virtual sessions (video) that educate and present options without diagnosing, prescribing, or directing care
  • Stay current on reproductive and fertility regulatory trends and clinical practice guidelines in the US
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and audits to help ensure a safe, compliant member experience that meets the highest standards
  • Collaborate with the broader Medical Experts team and cross-functional partners to deliver a consistent, high-quality member experience
  • Maintain a reliable, flexible schedule within ~15 hours per week range to meet member demand throughout the engagement

What Success Looks Like 📈

In your first 30 Days, you will have:

  • Delivered consistently high-quality, well-rated fertility sessions that help members feel informed and supported
  • Stayed within Carrot’s non-diagnostic, non-directive scope of practice and met documentation and quality standards across member interactions
  • Met your agreed weekly hours and availability, communicating proactively about scheduling and capacity
  • Ramped up quickly and worked independently with minimal oversight in a confidential, remote environment
  • Built trusted working relationships with the Medical Experts team and cross-functional partners

About You ✨

You likely have:

  • An active US license as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • 3+ years of experience providing patient care in a fertility clinic or a hospital clinic that addresses reproductive health
  • Superb listening skills and the ability to empathetically discuss fertility and family-building topics
  • The ability to work independently and to distinguish good clinical judgment from non-directive guidance
  • The ability to work from a confidential and private remote environment with reliable internet and digital resources
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and availability for 15 per week for a 3-month engagement

Nice to Have ⭐

While not required, we would be especially excited if you bring:

  • Experience in third-party reproduction (e.g., gestational surrogacy, donor gametes), urology, pregnancy, or menopause
  • Experience in digital health or telehealth settings, including virtual member or patient education
  • Prior contract or consulting experience with a quick ramp-up
  • Fluency in an additional language

Why This Role Matters 🧡

Fertility journeys are deeply personal, and members often arrive with more questions than answers. As a Fertility Medical Expert, you will be the knowledgeable, compassionate clinical voice who helps them understand their options and feel prepared for the conversations they have with their own care teams.

Your expertise helps make Carrot’s clinical program one that members trust and rely on, and it strengthens the confidence of the employers and health plans who count on Carrot to deliver high-quality, whole-person care. Even in a focused 3-month engagement, your work will make a direct, visible difference for the people we serve.
