The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for generating and qualifying service sales opportunities; converting customer enquiries and installed-base leads into quotations and orders; and maintaining disciplined follow-up and funnel visibility in partnership with field service sales and cross-functional teams..
This position reports to the Service Sales Director and is part of the LSIG Department located in Bangalore, India and will be a full-time on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Create and develop service sales opportunities from the installed base, inbound enquiries, campaigns, lapsed contracts and warranty expirations.
- Engage customers through telephone, email and digital channels to understand service needs and position the appropriate service offering.
- Prepare accurate service quotations and commercial proposals in line with approved pricing, discount, contract and compliance requirements.
- Own disciplined follow-up from lead to closure and support conversion of quotations into purchase orders.
- Maintain complete and current customer, opportunity, activity and forecast information in the approved customer relationship management system and sales tools.
- Partner with field service sales, service operations, finance, commercial teams and customer service to resolve commercial queries and enable timely order booking and execution.
- Track performance against service sales targets, review funnel health and conversion, and use data to prioritize actions that improve order growth, contract coverage and customer retention.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, business or a related discipline.
- Experience in inside sales, service sales, customer engagement or commercial support within life sciences, diagnostics, medical technology or a related B2B environment.
- Working proficiency in customer relationship management systems and Microsoft Office tools, with the ability to manage quotations, opportunity data and sales reporting.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work full-time on site in Bangalore, India.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Selling service contracts, preventive maintenance, upgrades, spare parts or other aftermarket solutions.
- Working with scientific instruments, laboratory workflows or regulated customer environments.
- Using structured sales funnel reviews, lead management and continuous-improvement methods.
