Job Description Summary
This position is available within the University of Maryland’s Division of Information Technology (DIT).This position is responsible for supporting university cybersecurity and compliance operations by monitoring adherence to institutional Information Technology policies and standards. In this position, the successful candidate will review output from a variety of data sources to identify both individual and systemic compliance issues. Furthermore, the position will coordinate follow-up actions with the appropriate units and support ongoing compliance tracking, reporting and remediation efforts.
Examples of work:
- Identify compliance issues in data from endpoint management platforms, enterprise log management systems, vulnerability assessment tools, and inventory management solutions.
- Track progress towards full compliance for units across the institution.
- Produce reports for University and Division of IT leadership.
- Interface with departmental IT units to document efforts toward compliance.
**This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services.**
**May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, or different shifts for extended periods.**
Physical Demands: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two (2) years of professional finance, grants, contracts, or compliance experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of organizational and administrative policies and procedures.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.

Please note that all positions within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) have an in person component with expected time in our College Park, MD location per week. Telework is not a guaranteed work arrangement.
