Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

We are the Firmware & Product Test (FPT) team, responsible for validating the firmware that powers Micron's enterprise SSD products. Our team develops scalable automation, advances validation methodologies, and works closely with firmware, hardware, and systems engineers to deliver reliable, high-quality storage solutions. This role offers hands-on experience with SSD architecture, test automation, AI-assisted engineering tools, and multi-functional collaboration across the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement automated test content for SSD firmware features, including NVMe and customer-specific requirements
  • Develop and maintain functional, performance, stress, interoperability, and negative test cases using established frameworks and automation tools
  • Investigate regression and field failures, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate findings to multi-functional teams
  • Enhance test automation, CI-based regression systems, reporting tools, and validation workflows to improve coverage and efficiency
  • Using Artificial Intelligence-assisted development tools and copilots to accelerate test development, debugging, data analysis, and engineering productivity

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-6 years of experience or Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
  • Strong Python programming skills, including experience with automation development and libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and Scikit-learn
  • Experience with software or firmware validation, test automation, and execution of structured verification strategies
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applying existing AI/ML tools to engineering or testing challenges
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and work independently on assigned projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware development concepts, and storage technologies including NVMe, PCIe, SSDs, or NAND flash
  • Experience developing automation solutions for validation, testing, or CI/CD environments
  • Working knowledge of C or Rust, along with experience using Linux, Windows, and Git-based development workflows
  • Experience participating in technical communities, open-source projects, or continuous learning initiatives
