Extrusion Operator|Covington, Georgia|Hiring Immediately
Compensation:
- $23.29-$25.57 per hour, paid on a weekly basis.
Available Shift:
- 2nd shift
- 7pm-7am
- 12-hours
- 2-2-3 schedule

Summary:
Responsible for operating an extrusion machine that produce polystyrene sheeting materials supporting plant thermoforming operation to specifications. Performs set-up, start-up, minor maintenance repairs, and line adjustments ensuring quality and consistency of product. Additionally, required to perform coordinator duties as Team leader, Loss prevention, Quality, or Administration when needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The essential functions of this position include, but not limited to:
· Maintains a safe, clean work area and follows all established safety rules and Standard Operating Procedures.
· Starts and stops machine observing operation/process to detect malfunctions of machine.
· Positions and remove roll stock stand with core and polystyrene material.
· Load and labels core rack with proper identification for storage.
· Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as turning control panels to regulate specified conditions or requirements.
· Conducts quality checks for consistency of polystyrene sheets to detect machinery malfunctions. Inspects raw materials and finish product at each step of process.
· Coordinates, assigns, and records daily production activities.
· Coordinates and relieves team members during breaks, and lunch, etc.
· Coordinates and assists disposal of unused/recycle product in production area.
· Report major discrepancies to unit manager or team leader.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing all other task or duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· One year related experience, or equivalent work experience
· Must be able to conduct 2-way verbal & written communication
· May be required to certify and obtain Lift Truck Operator License
Physical Requirements/ Environmental/ Working Conditions:
· Must be able to constantly stand, walk, use hands, and arms
· Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
· Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 70 pounds
· Frequently required pushing or pulling items using force up to 95 pounds.
· Must be able to frequently climb 10-40 steps and occasionally climb 5-10 ladder rungs.
· Able to work in differing temperatures.
· Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required.
