Job Title: Director, Growth & Innovation (DBSL)

Position Location: Shanghai China

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The role partners with business and functional leaders to identify improvement opportunities, translate strategic priorities into structured DBS initiatives, and apply appropriate DBS tools to drive measurable and sustainable improvements in Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation and Growth.

As an experienced DBS practitioner, the incumbent independently leads complex cross-functional improvement initiatives, facilitates Policy Deployment and Daily Management processes, delivers DBS training and coaching, and builds problem-solving and continuous-improvement capabilities across the organization.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) and Growth (Revenue/Margin) objectives that are tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and the change management process.

• Assist site / company Leadership in the development of a DBS Roadmap (i.e., how to use the DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results).

• Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching

• Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (other trainers and consultants from Danaher, or others).

• Be an active Leader in PD and Daily Management reviews (as appropriate)

• Help Danaher continue the evolution of the DBS tools (main contact here is DBS Office or DBSO).

• Ensure successful kaizen events by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process (includes; (1) planning of kaizens with a dynamic funnel process tied to PD and Daily Management, (2) kaizen execution and (3) sustainment of kaizens).

• Promote and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them

• Improve DBS training and facilitation skills by pursuing certification in DBS tools (MBB process for self and others).

• Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools and kaizen leadership.

• Evaluate and approve Associates for MBB certification.

• Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other Danaher locations.

Qualifications:

• Significant practitioner experience in functions/areas supporting (e.g., New Product Development practioner if a DBSL supporting Innovation through improvements in New Product Development processes). 

• Demonstrated proficiency applying lean or growth principles in a variety of situations.   

• Hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture. 

• Able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.   

• Very customer focused and had strong interpersonal and communications skills.   

• Quick study who can rapidly adapt to Danaher’s culture and gain the confidence of the Beckman organization.   

• High energy and able to handle conflict.   

• Independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.
