At Hotel Shattuck Plaza, every guest interaction is an opportunity to create a welcoming and memorable stay. Located in downtown Berkeley, our historic hotel is looking for a friendly, dependable Full-Time Front Desk Agent/Guest Service Concierge to join our team.

As a Front Desk Agent, you'll help guests feel welcome from arrival to departure while keeping Front Desk operations accurate, organized, and running smoothly. Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.

What You'll Do

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, efficient check-in and check-out service.

• Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns with professionalism and care.

• Follow through on guest needs and involve a supervisor or manager when additional support is needed.

• Share information about hotel amenities, dining, transportation, and local attractions.

• Answer calls and assist with reservations and guest inquiries.

Front Desk Operations

• Manage room assignments, guest accounts, payments, and folios accurately.

• Process reservations, special requests, and reservation changes.

• Communicate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments to coordinate room readiness and guest needs.

• Maintain clear shift notes and communicate outstanding items to the next shift.

• Follow cash-handling, guest privacy, and hotel safety procedures.

• Keep the Front Desk area organized, professional, and welcoming.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hotel Front Desk or guest service experience preferred.

• Familiarity with hotel property management systems and basic computer applications.

• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and a welcoming attitude.

• Comfort handling payments, reviewing guest accounts, and resolving billing questions.

Schedule Availability

• Full-time position with scheduling based on hotel needs.

• Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts.

• Availability on weekends and holidays.

• Dependability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
