G81 - Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (L3) to design, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable web applications supporting public sector digital transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of full-stack engineers, drive software architecture and engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with business and product stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring strong full-stack development expertise, sound engineering judgment, and experience delivering production-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Architecture

• Design and develop scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable software applications and architectures.
• Build and maintain full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and related technologies.
• Work with Python and Go where applicable.
• Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code following established engineering standards.
• Lead code reviews, system design discussions, and technical architecture reviews.
• Design, deploy, and support applications hosted on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to full-stack engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor and coach engineers in software design, coding standards, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and architectural challenges, recommending practical solutions.
• Drive improvements in code quality, system performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Promote engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and deployment processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Solution Delivery

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to understand requirements and business challenges.
• Translate complex or ambiguous business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.
• Recommend appropriate technical solutions and communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Break down complex requirements into manageable engineering deliverables.
• Balance technical quality, delivery timelines, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to improve software architecture, development workflows, and engineering productivity.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and operational practices.
• Explore and adopt AI-assisted software development tools to improve coding, testing, and delivery efficiency.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and modern software engineering practices.

Requirements

Technical Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing, scaling, and delivering production-grade web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack software development.

Proficiency in:

• Frontend: React, TypeScript
• Backend: Node.js
• Database: PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Cloud: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• DevOps: CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, and code review practices
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable application development.
• Experience delivering and maintaining applications in production environments.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership to full-stack engineering teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving software engineering standards.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Additional Skills (Advantageous)

• Experience developing applications using Python or Go.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software engineering tools and development practices.
• Experience improving developer productivity, deployment automation, and engineering workflows.
