Job Description

About the Role:

In this Associate Director level role, you will help connect Global Medical Excellence strategy with in-market execution in one of the organization’s most strategically important markets. You will play a key role in building the relationships, programs, and capabilities that enable Medical teams to perform at their best through close partnership with country and global stakeholders. Working at the intersection of capability development, onboarding, field medical effectiveness, launch readiness, and governance, you will help ensure global priorities are translated into practical, high-impact solutions that meet local needs. Your work will contribute to strengthening Medical team performance, improving launch preparedness, and advancing the broader Global Medical Excellence agenda. You will also serve as an important voice for local market insights, helping shape global programs, frameworks, and capability strategies through trusted partnerships and enterprise-wide collaboration.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Serve as the primary Medical Excellence partner for the country by adapting global frameworks, programs, and priorities to local needs and capability goals.
  • Assess capability needs and drive development initiatives by evaluating field medical maturity, identifying gaps, and contributing insights that inform global programming.
  • Lead onboarding excellence programs by designing and coordinating onboarding experiences for new Medical Affairs colleagues in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Drive field medical effectiveness through performance measurement, certification activities, capability development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support launch readiness efforts by ensuring Medical teams are prepared for upcoming launches and monitoring readiness indicators and associated risks.
  • Partner on governance and compliance activities by providing market-level perspectives that support compliant and effective ways of working.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships with country, regional, and global leaders to align priorities and strengthen collaboration across functions.
  • Represent market perspectives within global networks by contributing insights, sharing best practices, and helping shape Medical Excellence programs and frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant healthcare, scientific, or medical degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including significant experience in Medical Affairs.
  • Demonstrated experience in capability development, Medical Excellence, medical education, or related functions.
  • Experience working across local, regional, and global Medical organizations within a matrix environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to partner effectively with senior Medical and commercial leaders.
  • Experience in field medical roles or equivalent roles with knowledge of field medical effectiveness, performance measurement, certification, and capability development.
  • Ability to operate independently while contributing to a global function and managing multiple priorities across stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of Medical Affairs operations, field medical roles, capability development, pharmaceutical launch processes, and the Medical Affairs and Commercial interface.
