Description
American Welding & Gas Inc, has an immediate opening for a Material Handler at our in-facility in Taylor, TX!
In this position, they perform product composition, quality sampling and testing. Routine inspection, calibration, and repair of the meter and associated equipment (meter tube/plates, ultrasonic meter)
*** This position is physically demanding and involves tasks such as moving, grinding/sanding, painting, and filling 50-150 lbs cylinders ****
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect gas cylinders to detect surface defects and tests thickness of cylinder walls.
- Safely move gas cylinders off pallets onto testing equipment.
- Calibrate and adjust ultrasonic testing equipment to required standards and settings.
- Review and interpret test results and documentation as it relates to local, state, and federal compliance and DOT regulations.
- Record test results, cylinder serial number, and test date in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stamp test date and label gas cylinders once ultrasonic testing is complete.
- Ensure that defective cylinders or those requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.
- Inspect, maintain, and perform maintenance on ultrasonic testing equipment, as needed.
- Operate computer equipment and value machine (if applicable) to conduct testing.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Able to read and write English
- Mechanically inclined
- Technical skills
- Computer skills
