JOB PURPOSE

This position is ideal for students interested in public health, health promotion, or education who want to gain experience in program planning, outreach, prevention education, social media management, and resource distribution to help foster a healthy and informed campus community. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with planning and implementing Health Promotion & Wellness programs and outreach activities.

  • Support outreach initiatives through tabling sessions, campus engagement, and educational programming.

  • Prepare program materials, educational resources, giveaways, and outreach supplies.

  • Help maintain and organize harm reduction and health promotion supplies.

  • Create and distribute promotional materials across campus to increase awareness of HPW programs and services. 

  • Develop engaging content for the HPW Instagram account, including promotion of upcoming events and general health and wellness education.

  • Represent Health Promotion & Wellness professionally at campus events and while interacting with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Approximately 7-14 hours per week during the academic year.

PREREQUISITES FOR ELIGIBILITY:

  • Undergraduate Lewis & Clark student in good academic and disciplinary standing.

  • Strong interest in health promotion, wellness, prevention education, public health, communications, or student engagement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable engaging with peers in outreach and educational settings.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Commitment and ability to work with, engage, and support students from marginalized identities.

RATE OF PAY

  • $16.80 / hour

PREFERENCES

  • Experience with Canva or other graphic design platforms.

  • Experience creating social media content.

  • Interest or experience in health promotion, public health, peer education, wellness, or prevention programming.

  • Experience with event planning, customer service, or student leadership is a plus.

    Eligibility to Work
