Role Summary
The Senior Business Analyst acts as a strategic partner between Finance business teams and Finance Technology, ensuring business needs are understood, documented, and translated into effective technology solutions. The role is responsible for leading requirements gathering, business process analysis, solution design support, and project delivery activities across Finance systems and initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, define detailed business and functional requirements, support testing and implementation activities, and drive the successful delivery of business change. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to operate effectively throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Finance and Technology stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and priorities.
- Lead requirements gathering activities through workshops, interviews, and process reviews.
- Analyse, document, and validate detailed business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear process maps, and other project documentation.
- Collaborate with delivery, development, and support teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Support all phases of project delivery, including solution design, testing, deployment, and post-implementation review.
- Develop and execute test scenarios, support system integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure quality deliverables.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings, managing expectations and building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Support the preparation of business cases, recommendations, and project updates for management and key stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across Finance processes, systems, and controls.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6–8+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, preferably supporting Finance, ERP, or enterprise technology solutions.
- Proven experience gathering and documenting detailed business requirements and translating them into actionable solutions.
- Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, requirements management, and process improvement techniques.
- Experience working across the full project lifecycle, from requirements definition through implementation and business adoption.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Experience supporting system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and defect management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Outstanding communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively across business and technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with Finance processes and systems, including ERP platforms and financial applications.
- Experience within Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with SDLC and requirements management tools.
