Job Description
Role: Principal Consultant (Services Procurement)
Location: Northampton
Working Model: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
Contract: Full Time – Permanent
We’re looking for a Principal Consultant to join our growing Consultancy+ team, supporting organisations through our Services Procurement offering.
This is an opportunity to build a career in a consultative, relationship-led environment where you’ll work closely with clients to deliver tailored solutions across professional services and consultancy spend.
What is Services Procurement?
In simple terms, we provide an end-to-end outsourced procurement solution that helps organisations manage their consultancy and professional services spend more effectively - reducing risk, improving value, and lowering costs.
Demand for this service has grown significantly across the UK in recent years, giving us a strong opportunity to build long-term client relationships as this market continues to expand. While you’ll focus on engaging clients and developing opportunities, our specialist delivery team manages the operational side, including contract management, supplier management, compliance, and ongoing service delivery.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role across three core areas:
- Managing and developing existing client relationships
- Handling inbound opportunities and converting demand into projects
- Generating new business through proactive engagement
You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues and gradually take ownership of your own client portfolio.
What we’re looking for
We’re open to a range of backgrounds, but you’ll need to demonstrate:
- Strong relationship-building and client-facing experience
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple opportunities
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
You’ll also bring experience in at least one of the following:
- Sales or business development
- Procurement experience
- Public sector understanding - an understanding of public sector frameworks is particularly useful
- Supplier relationship management
Why join Consultancy+
You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team, with:
- Structured training and ongoing development
- Access to established processes and tools
- Exposure to a growing market with strong demand
This is a great opportunity to step into a role where you can develop your commercial skills while working in a more consultative, relationship-led environment.
If you’re looking to build strong client relationships and grow your career in a supportive, consultative environment, we’d love to hear from you - Apply now!
