SHINE Technologies is seeking a CGD Engineer to support the development and execution of commercial grade dedication (CGD) plans, qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities for items in support of construction of the Chrysalis and other SHINE-specific projects.
The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Commercial Grade Dedication Engineer:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and provide reviews of CGD plans.
- Develop and provide reviews of qualification plans, considering the mechanical, electrical, radiological, and seismic effects for items being qualified.
- Interface with Engineering organization to identify safety functions, failure modes, and use case of items.
- Interface with Procurement and Construction organizations to understand how CGD tasks affect installation dates.
- Support development of procurement strategies with Engineering and other Procurement staff, including development of requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Complete commercial grade surveys of vendors, as required.
- Generate Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports as required.
- Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or other technical field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in related field.
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.
- Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
- Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
- Ability to develop strong vendor relationships.
- Ability to work accurately and independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in commercial grade dedication (EPRI NP 5652).
- Experience in environmental qualification of equipment (e.g., electrical and mechanical aging, seismic testing in accordance with IEEE 344).
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Requires occasional leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
- Occasional moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day as required.
- Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
