Senior Estimator
Location: Moorestown, NJ
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing restoration and reconstruction team in Moorestown, NJ. This role is responsible for developing accurate residential, commercial, and industrial estimates while managing projects from initial scope through completion. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Xactimate, understands restoration and construction estimating, and can effectively communicate with clients, adjusters, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed and accurate scopes of work with minimal estimating variances.

Prepare precise floor plans, multi-level sketches, and roof diagrams using Xactimate Sketch.

Maintain working knowledge of applicable local building codes and industry standards.

Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets while proactively addressing cost variances.

Prepare estimates, revisions, proposals, and change orders using company formatting standards.

Build and maintain construction schedules while coordinating with trades, vendors, and project teams to ensure timely completion.

Identify schedule conflicts and recommend solutions when additional resources are needed.

Demonstrate expertise in source removal, containment, mitigation, decontamination, ventilation, contents restoration, and deodorization.

Perform investigative demolition, controlled demolition, structural cleaning, and restoration assessments.

Participate in ongoing professional development and estimator certification training programs.

Independently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Maintain company vehicle inspections and keep assigned vehicles clean and serviceable.

Complete accident, injury, and incident reports promptly when required.

Utilize strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills to support successful project outcomes.

Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, vendors, and internal management throughout the project lifecycle.

Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Follow all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
Requirements
-
Must expand and maintain local area clientele in position to refer losses. Clientele is primarily insurance adjusters but may also include community business owners, schools and municipalities. Senior Estimator book of business is approximately $2M- $4M

Serve as primary contact with owners, adjusters, and consultants

Scope development, negotiation and agreements with customers

Uses BELFOR standard in formatting estimates
-
Coordinate after hours emergency services as directed, including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage and vandalism

Consistently identify potential site hazards (asbestos, lead paint, mold, etc.)

Must conduct oneself professionally and with courtesy at all times. Must be proactive conveying information and be immediately responsive to requests for information

Apply industry TPA Program standards and ensure compliance with requirements

Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
-
Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines

Attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information

Attend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in construction, restoration, or contents estimating
-
Residential estimating experience in excess of $50,000 and commercial estimating experience up to $100,000
-
Successful completion of BELFOR Estimating Platform Level 1 and Level 2 User Certification

Successful completion of Xactimate Intermediate Training

National rate and material invoicing experience

English literacy and fluency

Understanding of MSDS data sheets and their application to restoration projects

Must use the BELFOR Estimate Format Standards for Xactimate estimates, proposals, and related documentation

Extensive customer service experience

Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency and extensive Xactimate experience

Professional appearance and demeanor with excellent verbal and telephone communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers, subcontractors, vendors, and customers
Physical Demands

Frequently lift over 50 pounds without assistance

Sit for extended periods while preparing estimates and documentation

Manual dexterity required for keyboarding and repetitive computer tasks

Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and stand as necessary

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 annually
