Description
VKB Homes is a fast-growing, systems-driven residential remodeling company serving the Fox Valley. As demand continues to rise, we’re looking for a Lead Carpenter / High-Level Carpenter who takes pride in craftsmanship, ownership, and leadership on the jobsite.
This is not a “show up and swing a hammer” role.
We’re looking for someone who can lead projects, solve problems, and elevate the people around them.
As a Lead Carpenter, you will:
- Lead jobsite execution for remodels and custom residential projects.
- Own quality control from demo to finish.
- Mentor and guide junior carpenters and laborers.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and trade partners.
- Ensure jobs stay on schedule and up to VKB standards.
- Handle framing, finish carpentry, installs, and problem-solving in the field.
- Communicate professionally with clients when needed.
You are the person who makes sure the job gets done right.

- 5+ years residential construction experience preferred.
- Strong finish carpentry skills.
- Ability to read plans and execute independently.
- Leadership mindset, not just task completion.
- Detail-oriented with pride in craftsmanship.

- Clean, organized jobsite habits.
- Valid driver’s license.
