Sign Estimator – Commercial Signage (ZR-708)

Horizon Tech is seeking a detail-oriented Sign Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial signage projects. The ideal candidate will analyze project specifications, architectural drawings, and client requirements to develop complete cost estimates covering materials, fabrication, permitting, shipping, installation, and subcontractor services.

The Sign Estimator will work closely with Sales, Project Managers, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Installation teams to ensure estimates are accurate, profitable, and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Review bid packages, architectural drawings, specifications, and RFQs.
  
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for interior and exterior commercial signage projects.
  
• Calculate material quantities, fabrication labor, installation labor, equipment, freight, permitting, and subcontractor costs.
  
• Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  
• Prepare detailed quotations and proposals for clients.
  
• Work closely with Sales and Project Management during project handoff.
  
• Identify value engineering opportunities to improve project profitability.
  
• Maintain estimating databases, labor rates, and material pricing.
  
• Review change orders and provide revised cost estimates.
  
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Installation departments.
  
• Ensure estimates meet company profitability goals while remaining competitive.
  
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for awarded projects.
  

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of estimating experience in the commercial signage industry.
  
• Strong understanding of sign fabrication methods and installation processes.
  
• Ability to read architectural drawings, construction documents, and shop drawings.
