Reporting to the Head of Facilities Services, the appointee will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing all aspects of facilities services on the Clear Water Bay and off-site Campuses and be required to:
- Oversee the effective management of all staff and contracts, ensuring that services are delivered to a high standard, aligned to the University’s operating requirements and contribute to the development of the Directorate’s overall direction and vision;
- Oversee the governance of external contracts, establish performance metrics, and ensure rigorous compliance with the University’s policies and procedures;
- To lead and empower all team members in the delivery of consistently high levels of customer service to students, staff and visitors;
- Spearhead and drive sustainability programmes and initiatives to minimize the social environmental and economic impacts of the University. The post holder will take a leading role in influencing waste diversion, water use and ensuring comprehensive sustainability impacts are addressed;
- To lead accountability for CMO/FS financial budgets under control including supporting the Head of Facilities Services with the annual budget planning, forecasting and spend management, ensuring all financial policies are strictly adhered to;
- Oversee the renewal of related contracts according to University’s procurement procedures and FM procurement & performance monitoring plans;
- Provide high-level oversight and coordination of the logistical and technical resources needed to support key strategic University events throughout the year. Partner closely with various departments in the University to ensure annual events such as Congregation, Information Day, Alumni Day, Orientation Week, Exams are managed successfully and delivered safely;
- Lead the operational planning, integration, and transition for upcoming new development projects, either on-site or off-site, ensuring related strategic goals and deadlines are achieved;
- Perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary; and
- Perform any other ad hoc duties or special assignments assigned by Director of Campus Management Office and Head of Facilities Services.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A recognised degree in Facility Management, Property Management or a related discipline;
- At least ten years of relevant experience in facilities management and event management preferably in tertiary institutions or public organization;
- Professional qualification, e.g. CFM, RICS, HKIFM, HKIH or equivalent is required;
- Strong technical expertise in cleaning and pest control technologies and procedures, with a commitment to driving best practices and innovations in housekeeping;
- Extensive supervisory experience in leading a team of operational staff in collaboration with clients, service contractors and other stakeholders;
- He / she should be a self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility; be able to motivate and develop staff and contractors to maintain operational excellence;
- Excellent communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills; and
- Flexible in working irregular hours including weekends and public holidays.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
