Shipco Transport Inc., a leading international cargo transportation company, has an immediate opening at our HAF branch located in Houston, TX for an experienced Airfreight Import Agent
We are looking for a candidate who is pro-active, dynamic, highly motivated, reliable and who understands and appreciates the importance of a team effort. The candidate should also possess the ability to ‘think outside the box’, and think and work outside their local market, and be aware of various time zones and regional norms for all parties involved.

- Coordinate Air Import Shipments
- Customs and Documentation
- Customer Service and Communication
- Shipment Monitoring and Issue Resolution
- Billing and Operational Accuracy
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in airfreight cargo is required.
- Knowledge of air carrier and truck capacities and routings a plus. Solid understanding air carrier services and LTL trucking services and both capabilities and limitation.
- Familiarity with US Customs regulations and other government agencies a plus.
- Candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of daily airfreight operations, customer service, documentation and government, carrier, hazardous and security regulations.
- Familiarity with awbs, documents and information required for airport pick-ups, as well as INCO terms.
- Must be able to calculate airfreight costs and have a knowledge of IATA terms and regulations.
- Candidate must be able to handle shipment A2Z and make decisions independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills are a must, to coordinate with agents and customers across the globe, as well as brokers, airline GHAs’, brokers, and importers nationwide.
- Commercial or sales experience will be considered as plus.
- Candidate must be detail orientated, and enjoy a fast paced, multi-tasking, customer service minded environment.
