Lakota - Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Lakota Solutions, LLC (LSC) is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our work at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for performing repairs and/or services on a variety of automotive equipment, track vehicles, support equipment, engineer equipment, and special purpose equipment.

• Knowledgeable of and able to perform repair and maintenance of military engines, transmissions, transfer case and major assemblies of all types tracked, wheel vehicles, construction equipment, and special purpose equipment.
• Knowledgeable of and able to perform repair and maintenance of military engines, transmissions, transfer case and major assemblies of all types tracked, wheel vehicles, construction equipment, and special purpose equipment.
• Able to read and understand blueprints, and wiring, piping, and hydraulics schematics listed in technical manuals and other publications.
• Possess the ability to research, interpret, apply, and report technical modification or upgrades identified in technical manuals, lube orders, PS Magazine, SOUMs, MAMs, and MWOs.
• Performs a variety of less complex maintenance functions as required such as replacing fluids, changing the oil and oil filters, lubricating, and repairing tires.
• Performs minor bodywork such as rough hammering out of dents, welding, filling, sanding, and spot painting.

Requirements

• Candidate must have 2+ years training and/or experience OR possess at least (3 to 4) years of on-the-job experience in lieu of training
• Must possess a current Class C driver's license issued by the state of Texas
• Ability to meet eligibility requirements for obtaining a Common Access Card (CAC)
• Must be proficient with one of more in the use of programs such as ALLDATA®, MITCHELL PRODEMAND®, General Motors MDI®, Ford IDS®, Chrysler wiTECH®, Cummins INSITE®, Caterpillar EIT®, Allison Truck Transmission®, as well as vehicle diagnostic programs such as Genisys, OTC, SnapOn, MODIS, PRO-LINK ULTRA and VERSUS scanners
