Summary of Job Duties:

The University of Arkansas School of Law is pleased to announce that it is currently seeking applicants for a 9-month, 100% appointed, tenure/tenure track assistant, associate or full professor (based on qualifications) starting in the 2027-2028 academic year to teach the Criminal Practice Clinic.

The candidate selected for this position will be expected to direct and teach the Criminal Practice Clinic each semester. They will supervise student law practice, teach the clinic seminar, manage the clinic’s docket, and provide students regular feedback, including through weekly supervision meetings. They will also collaborate with other faculty and clinic staff on matters related to administration of the clinical program. In addition to teaching, faculty who teach in the clinical program also engage fully in scholarship and service at the law school.

Candidates must have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school and must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students. Applicants must demonstrate an excellent record of scholarship or, at the entry level, a strong potential for scholarship. Successful candidates will also show a commitment to service within and outside the University. Lateral candidates are encouraged to apply.
