The Opportunity
What You'll Do
Scientific Engagement & External Partnerships
- Build, develop, and maintain strong scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, scientific societies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Establish Abbott Diabetes Care as a trusted scientific partner within the diabetes community.
- Facilitate scientific exchange and gather medical insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
Medical Affairs Support
- Provide balanced, accurate, and compliant medical-scientific information regarding Abbott Diabetes Care products and relevant clinical data.
- Act as a scientific expert in sensor-based glucose monitoring technologies.
- Monitor and communicate emerging scientific evidence, clinical developments, and healthcare trends within diabetes care.
Educational Activities
- Prepare and deliver scientific presentations for healthcare professionals, advisory boards, educational events, and internal stakeholders.
- Support and participate in national and regional scientific meetings, congresses, and symposia.
- Contribute to the education and training of internal cross-functional teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with colleagues across Medical Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
- Contribute medical insights that support product and medical strategies while ensuring all activities remain compliant with applicable regulations and company policies.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Initial experience as a Medical Scientific Liaison or in a comparable scientific field-based medical role.
- Strong understanding of clinical research, evidence-based medicine, and scientific literature interpretation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build credibility and maintain professional relationships with healthcare professionals and scientific experts.
- Fluent Swedish and professional English proficiency.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within Sweden (up to 70%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in diabetes, endocrinology, metabolic diseases, or related therapeutic areas.
- Advanced scientific qualification (PhD, PharmD, MD, or relevant postgraduate specialization).
- Experience working within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare industry.
