Job Summary
Position SummaryJoin our team as a Food Service Worker and play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff. In this role, you will support daily food preparation and service across a variety of food service environments while maintaining high standards for quality, cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in restaurants, hotels, casinos, catering, schools, universities, or other high-volume food service settings who enjoy working with people and being part of a collaborative team.
Essential Functions
Prepare a variety of fresh food items by rinsing, peeling, slicing, dicing, and performing other basic food preparation tasks.
Accurately weigh and measure ingredients according to established recipes and standards.
Follow recipes and preparation guidelines to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
Prepare, wrap, date-label, and properly store food items in accordance with food safety standards.
Maintain appropriate food temperatures and portion sizes to support quality, safety, and consistency.
Serve food and beverages in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Create a positive customer experience by responding to questions and providing helpful information about menu items, ingredients, availability, and pricing.
Work collaboratively with team members to keep service running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
Respond to customer concerns with professionalism and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
Clean, organize, and maintain work areas, equipment, utensils, and service stations throughout the shift.
Follow all established food safety, sanitation, hygiene, workplace safety, and service standards.
Contribute to a welcoming environment by demonstrating excellent customer service and a positive, team-oriented approach.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Knowledge of food service lines set-up and temperature requirements.
- Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods.
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards'.
