The primary focus of the Health and Safety team is to facilitate, through consultation and partnering with business units, compliance with statutory obligations and the development and deployment of system which provide enhanced performance, accountability and capability in the effective management of health and safety risks in the workplace.

We are seeking applications from aspiring health and safety professional to join our operations team as Wellbeing Coordinator. This position will be based in Johor Bharu, Malaysia and will support the operation in Malaysia and will be reporting to Associate Manager, Health and Safety.

You will be the involved in providing operational support, advice and assistance to the business and injured workers with Duty of Care and to assist injured workers with returning to work in a safe and timely manner in accordance with our recover at work program. You will be involved in reviewing and advising on the pre-medical assessment/placement of new hires with the People’s team. This function supports across all departments and productions to achieve ResMed’s strategic objectives with a systematic and business partnering approach to develop, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of Health and Safety System.

The role supports a diverse portfolio which includes Health and Safety, Workers Compensation, Injury Management and Health & Wellbeing. The position is expected to support the transactional Workers Compensation and Injury Management requirements and to participate broadly within the People, Facility Management and Operations Teams.

Let’s talk about the Role

• Development and implementation of the Recover at work Program.
• Broadly educate the business and inform injured workers on the Recover at work processes and insurance (Workers Compensation and Salary Continuance) benefits.
• Incident Handling: Managing SOCSO records and preparing monthly safety and health reports and also Experience in processing occupational injury and disease claims which involving SOCSO.
• Primary focal point for all contact relating to the injured worker and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and monitor progress in treatment and rehabilitation, including the development of Return-to-Work (RTW) plans through regular liaison with stakeholders and relevant party/medical practitioner.
• Provide ongoing follow-up and structured support for employees on repetitive medical or hospitalization leave, ensuring consistent engagement, progress tracking, and close collaboration with stakeholders to drive recovery and sustainable RTW outcomes.
• Coordinate and support the strategies and processes that facilitate effective injury and claim management across the duty of care and workers’ compensation.
• Maintain thorough and confidential records in line with laws and guidelines.
• Supporting in Workplace Safety Committee meeting
• Promote and organise health and wellbeing activities for the employees.
• Coordinate and implement initiatives that foster the health and wellbeing of employees.
• Review the site ergonomics working conditions.
• Develop and upkeep the Occupational Dictionary for the Malaysia Site
• Managing the First Aid Room, First Aid Items and on Site First Aiders
• Involved in training and organising trainings for First Aiders
• Provide support to the People’s team with regards to the Local EAP contact
• Tracking of employees involved in the Sleep 4a Health Life Program
• Perform other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned and as skills and experience permit.

• An understanding of the legal obligation of employers
• Ability to work autonomously and coordinate activities remotely.
• Business acumen to effectively balances short- and long-range priorities and decisions.

Let’s talk about You

• Diploma or degree in Nursing registered with the Ministry of Health or should have a valid annual practicing certificate (APC) from the respective body such as Nursing Board or Medical Assistant Board, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Safety Science or related discipline
• Along with at least 2 years’ experience working in highly regulated industries or manufacturing plant
• Looking to grow as a health and safety professional
