Job Description:
Join a dynamic team at the State of Nebraska's Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health as a full-time Administrative Technician. We are seeking individuals who are organized, possess outstanding customer service skills, and are dedicated to supporting our team in providing excellent service.

This position currently reviews and processes applications related to Behavioral Health and Consumer Services licenses.
Wage: $18.965
Hours: Monday – Friday 8-5
Dress Attire: Business Casual
Duties:
Reviews transcripts, examination scores, and other required documents for initial licensure.
Follows appropriate administrative procedures for the issuance, renewal, audit, reinstatement, and inactivation of these credentials.
Enters licensing and renewal data into the License Information System (LIS) database.
Updates LIS based upon change notifications, including name changes, deaths, and address changes.
Interfaces with licensees, applicants, general public, and others regarding statutory and regulatory licensing and certification requirements.
Handles routine phone calls, correspondence, maintains files, operates copiers and fax machine.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Preferred Qualifications: Within the last 2-3 years
The ability to review applications/documents in accordance with statutes/regulations/guidelines.
Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Access or other similar software.
Experience in handling phone calls and in-person customer service related to status of applications and/or required documentation.
Experience in organizing, tracking, updating, and timely filing/retrieval of electronic and manual records/files.
Experience in working with confidential documents and HIPAA compliance.
