Job Description:
***CDL license preferred but not required to apply for this position. Selected candidate will be required to complete CDL licensing upon hire***Responsible for distribution and delivery of food, supplies and equipment; including pulling and staging of orders. Perform light mechanical work, equipment assembly, preventive maintenance and deep clean kitchens. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community, school and department clientele.
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Constant lifting of five (5) to twenty (20) pounds
• Frequent lifting of twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds
• Frequent bending, squatting, standing, reaching, extensive walking, stooping
• Occasional sitting, climbing, kneeling, crawling
Essential Environmental Demands:
• Exposure to institutional food preparation equipment including sharp objects, heat, steam and extreme cold
• Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals/supplies
• Exposure to outside weather
• Noise level may be loud
Equipment:
• 26 foot box trucks, Commercial Driver License Class B required
• Light work trucks
• Fork lifts
• Pallet jack- manual and electric
• Pallet wrapper
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
- Deliver food and supply orders in 26’ box truck
- Develop and maintain connections with stakeholders to support the operations and functions of the department
- Maintain accurate food, supply and equipment transfer records
- Communicate with Warehouse Lead Receiver and Warehouse Foreman regarding inventory shortages and replacement needs
- Annually complete all USDA mandatory Professional Standards training hours as required by position category
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
- Pull individual site orders, stage warehouse orders and transfer accurately
- Comply with HACCP procedures
- Comply with Federal, State and Local regulations to ensure safety to staff and students
- Move equipment between sites, repair shop and warehouse in 26’ box truck
- Assemble some equipment
- Perform light mechanical work and preventive maintenance on warehouse and kitchen equipment
- Assist with quarterly inventory
- Receive and put away warehouse orders of fresh produce, bread and semi-truck loads of dry and frozen goods
- Process food and supply orders
Certifications:
Commercial Driver License Class B - Colorado Dept of Transportation, DCSD White Fleet Certification - DCSD
Education:
High School or Equivalent
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions. Strong organizational and time management skills.
