Position Overview
The Estimator plays a key role throughout the lifecycle of a construction project, from estimating and bidding through project execution and completion. This position works closely with clients, vendors, field personnel, and internal teams to ensure projects are accurately estimated, properly managed, and delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate project estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating software.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and submit competitive proposals.
• Communicate with customers throughout the bidding process to secure new business.
• Coordinate with the accounting team to transition awarded projects from estimating to active jobs.
• Prepare and submit material submittals in accordance with project specifications.
• Procure materials and coordinate deliveries to meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with field superintendents to ensure projects remain on schedule and operate efficiently.
• Attend project meetings and maintain communication with owners, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project budgets and assist in resolving issues that may impact cost, schedule, or quality.
Qualifications
• 1–2 years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of masonry construction, including CMU, brick, stone veneer, and related materials.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in commercial or multifamily construction.
• Familiarity with project management software.
• Understanding of construction contracts, schedules, and budgeting.
