Speech Pathologist - Pediatric

8:00AM - 4:30PM. 

This is a part time 28 hours per week position.  

The DH benefit's package starts the first day of employment. 

 

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center seeks a part-time Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our large rehabilitation team. This position involves evaluating and providing therapy for medically complex pediatric patients, from birth to 18 years old, with a wide range of diagnoses. The Speech Language Pathologist will develop and implement effective treatment plans, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and offer counseling to patients and families to support long-term outcomes. The position has the opportunity to serve both the inpatient and outpatient settings, dependent on candidate experience and departmental needs. Our ideal candidate would have some pediatric hospital experience, a strong background in dysphagia, VFSS/FEES exposure or experience, though all are encouraged to apply.

Our pediatric speech team provides some of the highest quality services in northern New England, and has conducted interdisciplinary research that has changed practice patterns in our Intensive Care Nursery. Evaluates and participates in diagnostic testing and treats patients.

Responsibilities

Performs evaluations, develops plans and goals, and executes treatments according to the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) Standards of Practice for Speech Language Pathologists.

Maintain complete, accurate documentation and medical records in a timely manner and in the approved departmental and professional format.

Perform comprehensive assessment and management of patients with feeding and swallowing impairments.

Provide education to patients and their caregivers regarding evaluation findings, exercise programs, and management of care recommendations.

Perform instrumental assessments of swallowing including Modified Barium Swallow Studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES).

Work collaboratively with referring providers, team members, and other staff to ensure patient safety during testing and to develop plan of care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Approved CFY with supervision or ASHA certificate of clinical competence required.
• New Hampshire licensure required.
• BLS Certification Required
