Pay   Grade(s): 13-14 ($44.74 - $55.40 + DOE)  

Purpose: The Community &   Behavioral Services Healing Center is seeking a mental health professional to   deliver outpatient clinical services to participants involved with our Tribal   Court’s Youth Healing to Wellness Program (ages 14-21). Healing to Wellness is   a court-diversion program. The incumbent is responsible for the development   of individualized, person-center, evidence-based treatment plans and services   including group, individual, and family services, as clinically indicated, for   each participant. They work with a multidisciplinary team that includes case   managers, toward the goal of successful community reintegration and sustained   recovery for all participants. An assessment is provided prior to acceptance   into the program to determine if the program is an appropriate fit, and what services   may be needed during their program involvement. 

Essential Functions. An   individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with   or without reasonable accommodation:

· Deliver   developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive   interventions for adolescent and transition-age youth (14-21) with   co-occuring disorders in Youth Healing to Wellness Court program. 

· Conduct comprehensive,   integrated bio-psycho-social assessments with treatment recommendations and   DSM-V-TR diagnoses.

· Conduct criminogenic   risk needs responsivity assessments to identify risk factors, target   treatment, ensure responsivity, match treatment intensity, and to address   non-criminogenic needs.

· Assist in identifying   appropriate program participants with an understanding of program admission   criteria.

· Create individualized   treatment plans to direct the treament team’s services based on client needs   and evidence-based practices.

· Provide regular   individual and/or family therapy sessions, reoccuring group therapy sessions focusing   on recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and life skills necessary for   successful community reentry and/or recovery.

· Identify and utilize   appropriate and relevant substance use/group curriculums.

· Monitor client   progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure effective   outcomes.

· Maintain complete   participant case files with timely documentation that complies with legal,   ethical, and organizational standards.

· Coordinate care with   probation officers, community agencies, healthcare providers, and family   members to support a holistic recovery and reentry process.

· Plan and host or   co-host community outreach, engagement and educational activities in   collaboration with Wellness Court, commuity partners, and participants/families   to promote awareness, prevention, recovery and culturally grounded wellness   practices.

· Participate in staff   meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development   activities.

· Ensure compliance with   licensing, accreditation, and funding agency requirements.

· Maintain working   knowledge of theories, principles, and program guidelines in Behavioral   Services including timely completion of all training and licensure   requirements.

· Assist leadership in   providing support to the Wellness Court team through loss of   participants/staff or participant relapse/etc. to contribute to a healthy,   trauma-informed, and supportive work environemnt.

· Adhere to HIPAA and 42   CFR confidentiality regulations.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills &   Abilities. A comprehensive set of capabilities   required to perform job tasks effectively:

· Ability to abide by   the regulations, operating policies, and procedures regarding Tlingit &   Haida programs

· Advanced clinical   skills in working with Alaska Natives/American Indians and the commitment to   provide high standards of care including Ability to defuse emotionally   charged situations in a respectful manner

· Ability to work   collaboratively with professionals at all levels to achieve established goals   and improve quality outcomes

· Excellent verbal and   writing skills

· Excellent   organizational and time-management skills

· Strong technological   systems ability including Microsoft Suite, electronic health records, and   more

· Ability to analyze and   interpret complex information from multiple sources

· Ability to manage   priorities in a changing environment with limited information

· Ability to be   self-directed in problem solving and decision making

· Specialized experience   in culturally responsive substance use disorder and mental health treatment

· Knowledge of community   needs, problems, and resources

· Sensitivity to diverse   cultures and community standards

· Recognize and   reinforce the inherent strengths of Alaska Native/ American Indians families   and communities

· Protect and maintain   confidentiality of participants

Minimum   Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

· Master’s Degree or   higher in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or related field

· Two (2) years of   clinical experience providing counseling services, preferrably with   justice-involved individuals and/or substance use disorders

· Strong understanding   of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices for recovery.

· Must be 21 years of   age with a Valid Driver’s License

Preferred   Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

· Knowledge of the   Tlingit and Haida cultures and traditions

· Current   clinical licensure in the State of Alaska 

· Five (5) years of   clinical experience providing culturally responsive counseling services to   Alaska Native/American Indians

· Flexibility with   scheduling to meet clinical, programmatic, and collaborative needs, including   the ability to occasionally flex hours within a workday (e.g., offering an   evening appointment for a family), while not serving in on-call capacity.

· The majority of work is performed in a professional office   setting and is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing,   bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs.

· Some   travel may be required on small aircraft or ferry. 

· Certain   positions at Tlingit and Haida may have exposure to certain hazardous   materials or conditions. The   supervisor will review these if applicable.
